Someone? ©

I will walk by your side, and share the view with you.
Taking each new step in stride, a world shared by two.
We will walk hand in hand and live life to the end,
Nothing to stop our love, an eternal special friend.
Someone to share each day with, every new sunrise,
Someone to sit with, as the sun starts to subside.
Someone who’ll talk with me, someone to understand,
Someone who won’t judge, but accept me for who I am.

Someone who is soft and sweet,
This someone I hope to someday meet.

Springtime in Minnesota ©

After 6 months of freezing cold,
The cabin fever takes control.
The freezing wind, the snow and ice,
Give way to the more pleasant sights.
The birds return, the flowers too,
The trees and bushes bud and bloom.
The smell of fresh grass fills the air,
And breathes new life from old despair.
The sun returns to warm our days,
And clear our minds of all the haze.
The feeling starts to take control,
To just get out and take a stroll.
To have a picnic, or a long car ride,
Or grill a braut or steak outside.
To again plant flowers around the yard,
To catch lightning bugs inside a jar.
To go out fishing at the lake,
Or have a bon fire until late.
Camping under the stars and moon,
Crickets and frogs singing their tune.
Enjoying the beauty that nature provides,
Just happy to be free, and so much alive.

Enraptured ©

My love, my feelings for you, grows stronger every day,
As I struggle to relate just what my heart does try to say.
So I write to you these poems, a poor attempt to explain,
The ramblings of a madman who love has drove insane.
For to me you are true beauty all rolled up in one,
The sweetest and most lovely, second to none.
Venus and Cleopatra are but shadows on the wall,
For you are by far the fairest of them all.
I call you just to hear your sweetest voice my girl,
The most enchanting sound there can be in all the world.
So soft and sweet and lovely, I adore every breath,
I harbor every word as I grow more amouress.
When you giggle I feel myself rise-up off the ground,
Then you laugh and I fly as my heart begins to pound.
You sigh, so low and soft, and I melt back down to earth,
Then again you breathe in deep and I feel my rebirth.
I sit there silently entranced by your hypnotic sounds,
Enraptured in the pleasure of the joy that I have found.

Another Poem written to my ex.

The Redheaded Stranger

So easy to talk to, it's like we're old friends,
I wait for each day to see her again.
She always the high light that cheers up my day,
Makes me smile and laugh, like a child who's at play.
A beautiful face, like nothing I’ve seen,
I'm mesmerized with those eyes of green.
How so small a picture can stir me inside,
But that wonderful image is burned in my mind.
I can only imagine the beauty she holds.
Her soft creamy skin and that long slender nose.
But I must try to refrain from the feelings I keep,
For she's somebody else’s and the price is too steep.
So I will be content with her as a friend,
And cherish each moment that we have to spend.
But I'll envy another more fortunate guy,
Who holds a treasure more than money can buy.

Labyrinth ©

Why do you want something you, when you know you can’t have it?
The less probable the price, the grander the allurement.
When old you wish you’re younger, when young you wish you’re old.
It’s a never ending cycle and the answer is untold.
Like a child chasing a ball, that your parents let you pick.
Just as you reach your prize, you’ll give the ball a kick.
We’re all trapped in the circle, the labyrinth of reality.
Always wanting more and more, the things we cannot keep.
But for all that we struggle, and for all that we strive,
The prizes we most value are the ones that we’re deprived.
